We have the capability, staff and know how to handle every aspect of a release. Below please find a list of services that can be combined, as needed, for your release.
VIRTUAL LABEL:
MISSING PIECE will act as a full service virtual label for your release.
We will quarterback the campaign and direct all project management duties, with in-house press, radio promotion, online and public media marketing, all brought to bear on your behalf. Where appropriate, we supplement our efforts via a wide network of companies that are experts in their respective fields. We will prepare a marketing plan, and can oversee production, creative and manufacturing.
MISSING PIECE will develop a project timeline, direct project conference calls with indies, compile weekly highlight updates for your label/distributor, pursue touring opportunities, and develop partnerships with consumer brands. MISSING PIECE will optimize your release’s sales and success.
PUBLICITY:
MISSING PIECE GROUP will tailor a publicity and imaging campaign catered to your project’s specific needs. For each campaign, we provide editorial services and do targeted outreach to major national and local print, online, television and syndicated radio outlets. We also have a 2500+ and growing blog list for both national and local coverage.
ONLINE/SOCIAL MEDIA:
MISSING PIECE will optimize web and social media presence for projects, and create strategies for increasing fan interaction (e.g. Facebook Likes, Twitter Followers) and as well strategizing for best D2C approaches for projects. We are Topspin certified and know how to use that service to increase sales.
We will also put together a strategy for a rollout of audio assets(live tracks, demos, covers, b-sides), and video (music videos, live concert and simple acoustic cam performances) to garner attention and exclusives on blogs and larger music sites, as well as pitching videoblogs and audio sessions sites along tours (Daytrotter, Audiotree, Hear Ya, Wolfgang’s Vault).
We also pursue large-scale coverage on appropriate highly-trafficked entertainment portals including MSN, Spinner, Comcast and others.
PUBLIC MEDIA/TALK RADIO MARKETING
MISSING PIECE is the premier firm for outreach to all national NPR/talk radio outlets, as well as working all local NPR/Talk/non-comm outlets in tour markets. More and more labels are turning to MISSING PIECE as NPR appearances drive instantaneous sales increases, immediately trackable at Amazon and iTunes.

MISSING PIECE offers several services to get your artist/project on PBS, navigating the confusing confederacy that is public broadcasting:
INITIAL PLEDGE DRIVE PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT:
MISSING PIECE will pitch multiple PBS outlets to partner on production and distribution of a pledge drive. We would look to bring in contribution of a significant license fee, hammering out all deal points. We consult on content, ensuring that show has strong appeal to PBS member stations. We also have strong relationships with production companies to help bring in budgets at substantially lower cost, thereby making production on these shows affordable. Lead time from start date on project to on-air, 6-9 months minimum.
DEVELOPMENT OF PLEDGE DRIVES W/ EXISTING CONTENT:
MISSING PIECE will pitch PBS distribution entities to distribute and air already existing full length concert programming, working with labels to launch pledge drives to coincide with overall strategy for audio releases (and tour dates, where applicable).
STATION RELATIONS:
MISSING PIECE will directly pitch local public television stations to ensure most extensive carriage of pledge specials once national distribution is in place. Pledge programming is determined locally by each station, so outreach must be done to each programmer in their respective markets to make sure your show gets aired.
PREMIUMS:
Work with label, management, PBS contacts to arrange for product to be sold to PBS stations for pledge use, including negotiation of “station price” and development of exclusive products for use as pledge drive premiums.
NON-COMMERCIAL RADIO PROMOTION
MISSING PIECE works the Non Comm panel as well as specialty programming on all formats, aiming for as much exposure as possible. We also push for on-air performances and interviews in conjunction with as many tour dates as possible.
LICENSING:
MISSING PIECE works with an experienced licensing executive who will present projects to music supervisors and arrange live performances for music supervisors and ad agencies.
