As Manager of Publicity, Erik handles full PR campaigns for a variety of Missing Piece clients as well as day-to-day management for Colony House. A Boston-area native (no, he doesn't have an accent), Erik graduated in 2010 from Northeastern University's Music Industry program. He's been an avid music nerd since his earliest memory of listening to the oldies channel while riding in his dad's 1970-something Thunderbird. Fun facts: he once drove cross-country to Alaska in a 1980 Chevy wagon, he owns a world-record breaking (sort of) red-eared slider, and he can juggle.
After graduating from Marymount Manhattan College, Gina started working as an Assistant Video Editor and Animator for PBS documentaries. Realizing that music was really her passion, she decided to leave the film world behind. After a few odd jobs including work as a sculptor’s assistant and interning for a fashion photographer, Gina scored an internship at Missing Piece Group, where she’s been ever since. A Newark, NJ native, and musician on her own time, she’s the Operations/Marketing Manager at Missing Piece and does everything from publicity to billing to managing the interns, and making sure the coffee is stocked!
Brett Loeb works digital marketing and publicity projects at Missing Piece, and is a product manager for Missing Piece Records. Brett started at Missing Piece as an intern, then joined the team as a full-time employee after graduating Drexel University’s Music Industry Program in 2014. At Missing Piece he’s worked with musicians like Plants & Animals, Robert Glasper Experiment, The Silver Lake Chorus, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and comedians like Mike O’Brien, and Ron Funches.
A recent transplant from New York to The Emerald City, Justin Schmidt heads the Seattle branch of Missing Piece Group. Justin got his start in music first as a musician and songwriter, then later as startup indie label manager for Post-Echo before ultimately finding his place as a publicist with Missing Piece. Justin is a fan of guitar feedback, drum machines, heavy reverb, Moog synthesizers and Stanley Kubrick. Follow him on Twitter at @Justin_Schmidt1.
Emily grew up in St. Louis, MO and attended the University of Dayton in Ohio. In college, Emily spent a summer interning in the Music Department at KDHX, St.Louis’ community radio station, and then doing publicity for a Dayton-based indie label. Wanting to live outside of the Midwest at least once in her life, Emily moved to New York City after graduation and began interning at Missing Piece Group. After that she moved to a full-time slot with PR agency PMK*BNC. This summer, she returned to Missing Piece full time as a digital marketing coordinator and does everything from developing timelines to thinking up #hashtags and befriending playlist curators.
